Sketch Art and Design

Set across three distinct spaces within sketch, this yearís annual exhibition takes inspiration from surrealist design whilst honouring the heritage of No. 9
Conduit Street. The exhibition, co-curated and co-produced by Alter-Projects, will open on 12th September until 10th November, covering key cultural events in London including London Fashion Week, London Design Festival, PAD and Frieze Art Fair.

The Facade, Reception and Pod Loos will present Home of the Braves, celebrating the pioneering courage and unapologetically fearless spirit of the Suffragettes. The installation is the creative vision of forward-thinking, prominent artist and fashion designer, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, whose multidisciplinary work spans art, fashion, and design, and is characterised by a limited colour palette of blue, yellow, and red. Emerging fashion designer Ida Immendorff was invited by Castelbajac to collaborate, by drawing inspiration from elements of protest and Suffragette aprons to dress the three alcoves.

The Glade will be transformed with an installation by innovative designer Paul Cocksedge. A reinterpretation of the traditional chandelier, Gravity Chandelier is supported by flexible white fabric elements that form graceful arcs reminiscent of the strokes of a brush or pen on paper.  The artwork is a presentation of Paul Cocksedgeís ethos - a sense of simplicity, joy and wonder.
